PyGotham 2015

Our developers attended PyGotham on Aug 15 & 16 at AMA Executive Conference Center in Midtown Manhattan.  The event was a two-day Python focused conference with 30 lectures covering everything from Hacking with Python to Using Python to Decode Sarcasm in Speech. The conference also included various social events which gave us the opportunity to speak with developers from industries outside of Financial Services.

We were in all agreement on what our favorite class was: Introduction to open and collaborative data analysis with pandas and IPython/Jupyter Notebook. Check out the video.

Python Training Class

The Monticello team attended an advanced python class at General Assembly NYC this week to brush up on their skills.  The class covered high level data structures, network programming, writing GUI's in Python, and CGI programming. We were most excited to learn how to build RESTful and HTTP-based web services in Python.
