Monticello's CEO Elected to the Children’s Village Board of Trustees!
NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Monticello today announced that its founder & CEO, William Morgan, has been elected to join the Board of Trustees of the Children’s Village. The Children’s Village, founded in 1851, is one of New York City’s most important charitable organizations with a mission of helping society’s most vulnerable children become socially responsible members of their communities, while striving to keep families together.
“We are honored to have Will Morgan join our Board of Trustees. He is no stranger to our mission as he, and his firm, Monticello Consulting Group, have long been supporters of the Children’s Village and the Inwood House, which is now part of our organization,” said Jeremy C. Kohomban, PhD, President & CEO of the Children’s Village.
Recently elected trustee Will Morgan stated, “I am honored to receive this appointment to join the passionate and distinguished group of trustees at the Children’s Village. The programs we are currently supporting at the Children’s Village are needed now more than ever. From providing deeply affordable housing at our Harlem Dowling location, where young adults who age out of our public systems can safely live avoiding the risk of homelessness, to helping unaccompanied immigrant children receive mental health treatment and residential care, our program slate continues to evolve and grow to meet the needs of society’s most vulnerable children. I look forward to supporting Jeremy and the Children’s Village with its vital mission of keeping children safe and families together in the years ahead.”
The Children’s Village is one of Monticello’s key partners under its Corporate Responsibility initiative. To support the Children’s Village’s efforts and to learn more about the organization, please visit www.childrensvillage.org.

Over the course of this summer internship, I was able to develop both personally and professionally. I had the unique opportunity to learn under experienced project managers and senior consultants who helped me refine my technical and communication skills. On the client site, my manager helped me explore my interests and provided me with hands-on process improvement and automation projects that had a real impact on their overall operations. This summer has truly been an amazing experience and I am excited to apply my new knowledge to the rest of my professional career.
Jake
Throughout the summer, I had the opportunity to work at the client site under a senior consultant who allowed me to personalize the internship to my interests while also introducing me to the financial services industry. Through him, I immersed myself in a consultant’s world where I was able to provide value through an automation project and large-scale counterparty remediation. Internally, I enjoyed the weekly workshops where I learned how to create effective presentations and was introduced to emerging industries such as Robotics Process Automation (RPA). Overall, Monticello provided me with more personal and professional development than I could have asked for.
Michael
This summer, I worked alongside an excellent project manager from Monticello’s testing governance practice. Through this experience, I had the opportunity to refine my communication and technical skills by coordinating with client-side executives to update workstream delivery tools and project updates. Outside of the client site, Monticello provided insightful workshops surrounding design thinking, agile, RPA, and how to leverage them in business processes. Overall, Monticello’s resources were essential in promoting my career advancement.
Shrivats
My internship experience at Monticello was a truly rewarding one. I enjoyed being in a collaborative environment with a diverse group of highly accomplished consultants. Working directly under a project manager, on a large-scale technology implementation project for a global bank, allowed me to further advance my technical and interpersonal skills. Alongside working at the client site, I had the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to internal projects and participate in weekly education workshops that gave me exposure to a variety of interesting topics and methodologies. All in all, this experience helped greatly in my professional growth.

Investing in Uncertain Times - UVA Financial Panel in NYC
Monticello employees attended the 19th Annual Financial Panel last week, co-hosted by UVA Darden’s Richard A. Mayo Center for Asset Management. Tyler Mathisen, co-anchor of CNBC's Power Lunch, returned as moderator while expert panelists addressed topics such as the current state of the Fed, tariffs, rise of social media, emerging markets and their economic forecast for 2019 and beyond. Although the group mostly focused on where to invest next, one of the most compelling thoughts came from Tyler Mathisen’s response to an upcoming college graduate looking for sound financial advice on where to invest after graduation - “The best thing to do is to start investing early, but more importantly, invest in yourself and your future.”
Ben Graham VI Annual Investing Conference in NYC
Joining the Ben Graham Annual Investing Conference in NYC was thought-provoking and enjoyable! We spent the day exchanging ideas on the current macro environment and the state of value investing - both domestically and internationally. One of our favorite speakers and our friend, Katrina Dudley CFA, spoke on the international panel about her views on value plays in the European market, highlighting the importance of cyclicality and valuation differences in Europe vs. the US. We agree that value investing often provides risk mitigated allocation opportunities, especially with a longer term-time horizon!
