Last week the Inwood House hosted its annual Spring Luncheon to support their work with pregnant and parenting teenagers. In support of their aim to raise awareness of important issues facing teens in our community, a team of expert panelists tackled a thought-provoking and engaging topic - We Need to Talk about Diversity: How to Speak to Children about Inclusion and Diversity.
The luncheon covered a number of great topics including the importance of intention driven actions, addressing unconscious bias and asking respectful questions, and embracing differences to drive change. By educating our children, we can help make the world a better place for generations to come. Monticello Consulting Group sponsored the event while our very own Joanna Horowitz served as a co-chair helping to make the event a success.
