Over the past two months, our team had the privilege to volunteer for financial literacy training in NYC!
In November, Jordan Heller and Jon Lacy taught a two-part Financial Literacy workshop on budgeting to the students at Brooklyn Secondary School. Both sessions were interactive and engaging, blending fundamental financial concepts with hands-on exercises. Together, the students explored the importance of budgeting, learned how to track expenses, and practiced creating personalized budgets.
In December, Jordan Heller teamed up with Dan Morris to present a session on credit and debt. We covered essential topics like understanding credit cards, credit scores, managing debt responsibly, and making informed financial decisions. The students were actively engaged through asking thoughtful questions and participating in exercises that emphasized real-world applications.
Financial literacy is a cornerstone of independence, and we’re honored to contribute to preparing these young minds for a successful future. A big thank you to Brooklyn Secondary School and the students for their warm welcome and engagement! Thank you, Jordan Heller, Jon Lacy & Dan Morris for your commitment during these important sessions. Here’s to building a generation that’s ready to make smart financial decisions!
