Sponsoring “A Christmas Carol in Harlem” at the CTH
This December, Monticello sponsored a classroom of students to see the annual Christmas show, “A Christmas Carol in Harlem” at the wonderful Classical Theatre of Harlem, in partnership with the High Water Women. Since 1999, CTH has provided classical theatre productions and theatre-based educational and literary programs to underserved populations in Harlem and beyond. In addition to producing award-winning public theatre, CTH creates a platform for young actors, playwrights, and technicians of color, for whom there is a dearth of opportunities in classical stage work. Also, by offering free productions with no barriers to entry, CTH has made classical theatre accessible to people of all socioeconomic backgrounds. 2019-2020 is a special year for The Classical Theatre of Harlem, as it is celebrating its 20th Anniversary, as well as the 100th Anniversary of The Harlem Renaissance. We’re so pleased to be a part of this program!
