Jae’s Day
7:30 AM – I wake up, get dressed and do a quick glimpse-through of my inbox to set expectations for the day and pick up a large McCafe iced coffee on my way to the office.
8:30 AM – I begin spearheading daily checkpoint calls with different lines of businesses (LOB) and start sending follow-up e-mails or escalating stale and outstanding items as soon as I can to kick-off my day.
9:00 AM – I am usually in back-to-back meetings all morning due to my interaction with many stakeholders in London. Many progress updates are provided per LOB during these calls, so I make sure to create a list of things to do for the day and ensure all items are addressed by EOD.
11:00 AM – In between meetings, I start updating my project trackers/reports with additional information given per LOB throughout the day to prepare and update senior management later in the day with how the project(s) is progressing.
1:00 PM – I provide executive summaries to senior management on progress made to-date on the project I’m managing and discuss immediate action items and a game plan to adhere to upcoming milestone dates.
2:30 PM – I have fairly late lunches due to the B2B meetings and head out for lunch around this time and try to eat out in Bryant Park as much as I can because it’s my favorite park in the city!
3:00 PM – I have daily stand-ups with my manager where I provide updates on the work I’m doing as well as raise any major blockers that need to be resolved or need escalation on.
5:30 PM – I wrap up for the day and send a daily status update to senior management on the progress made thus far in my projects and document items to take action on first thing next morning.
6:00 PM – After work, I always go to the gym and usually get take-out for dinner and sync up with friends later in the day.
